We believe in the great importance of teaching our faith to our children and helping them grow in its hope and encouragement. Our desire is that children have an intimate relationship with God and that their hope is in Him.
At Washington Christian Center, younger children attended children’s ministry during Sunday worship. We ministered to them at a level they could readily understand and relate to, in an atmosphere conducive to learning. When children turned twelve, they graduated to the sanctuary and joined the congregation for Sunday worship.
On Friday evenings, children and teenagers participated in club time while adults gathered for Bible study and prayer. Teenagers also enjoyed activities afterward that provided opportunities for friendships and social interaction in a wholesome, God-honoring setting. We believe it is our responsibility to provide healthy and enjoyable alternatives to what the world has to offer.
We also emphasized the need for parents to first get the Word of God in their own hearts so they could teach it to their children at home. Our vision is to tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done, so that they, in turn, will tell their children.
