We believe that God has chosen the family to be the unit that forms the foundation of the church and society. The first institution that God formed was the family. He instructed a man to leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and He told them to be fruitful and multiply.
Our desire is for marriage and family life to be shaped by the Word of God. Through our ministry, we encouraged husbands and wives to grow in their relationship with the Lord and put His Word into practice in their homes.
In our own home, we sought to create a godly atmosphere where our family could thrive in comfort, love, and security. We wanted the school, the church, and the home to be on the same page, working together to nurture our children.
Through the Titus II Women’s Fellowship, we encouraged older women to teach what is good and help younger women love their husbands and children, be kind, and grow in their knowledge of God. We also offered married and singles classes each winter. Our purpose was to teach and encourage people to do the work of the ministry wherever God had called them, including within their own families.
We believe it is God’s intent that our children have an intimate relationship with Him and that their hope is in Him. Much of our teaching emphasized the need for parents to first get the Word of God in their own hearts so they could teach it to their children.
Following Deuteronomy 6:5–9, we encouraged parents to teach God’s Word diligently throughout everyday life, when sitting at home, walking along the way, lying down, and rising up. Our vision is to tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done, so that they, in turn, will tell their children.
